I really trashed my CD player now. It lasted me almost 5 long years...and then I went and dropped it. Crash! Peices and parts flying everywhere. Dogs barking. Wails of distress and dismay. The roaring of helicoptors overhead. And I swear I heard the distant whistling sounds of missiles flying through the air. It was something straight out of Saving Private Ryan.
Casualties of war: 1 discman.
We all mourn the loss. But on the bright side, this gives me an excuse to go out and get me an iPod.

My parents are intent on dragging me to the movies every week. This time we watched Seabiscuit. It wasn't bad. It was actually pretty good. It had the prettiest black horse... However, Tobey Maguire makes a horrible redhead. Also, during the movie I had the hardest time remembering Secretariat's name, while Seattle Slew just kept recycling in my head. I blame Melissa.
I have a strange, yet understandable, desire to go snowboarding. Alas, there is no snow.

It's hot. And sticky. I wanna take a shower, but that would wake my mom and create a grumpy mummy in the morning who yells at me when I try to watch Yu-Gi-Oh. And Kim Possible. No matter how dorky my Saturday mornings are, I love them. And I'm keeping them. As far as I'm concerned, I still have the mentality of a 10 year old anyways. Grown-up my ass.

Well, not much happening, so I'll post a little movie review. I Captured the Castle - saw it a couple days ago at the Laemmle in Pasadena (the one that shows those "artsy" films that never make it to the generic theatre near you). It's gotten good reviews from, uh, some people, or some magazines...or whatever. The movie was pretty well filmed, the narrative blended with the screen action really smoothly, and the acting was pretty good. There were a couple of cute little ironies thrown in that made me just giddy inside, but much of the symbolism was either too blantant or...well, didn't make much sense or contribute to the movie as a whole. The theme (and in movies like these, you know there is one) was only clear at the very end of the film, and I was completely lost to what the whole point of all was during the beginning and the middle. There were some cliches, but the characters seemed to mostly break out of them as the movie wore on. All in all, it was kinda boring, with mediocre comedic lines. In other words, it was trying too hard. I recommend it over, say, Gigli, but there are other movies worth watching. Like Pirates of the Caribbean. Someone go take me to see it again.
